What an incredible season for both our Lanett High School Varsity Boys and Girls Basketball Teams! We want to extend a massive congratulations to our amazing coaches and dedicated student athletes for their outstanding performance this year. Lanett City Schools wishes to congratulate the Lanett High School Varsity Girls Basketball Team on advancing to the Final Four! Your dedication, teamwork, and perseverance have brought pride to our school system and community.
On Monday, March 2, the girls basketball team will face Cold Springs at 4:00 p.m. at the BJCC Legacy Arena.
Each school will provide specific guidance regarding attendance procedures for students who plan to attend the game on Monday.

As the first leader of Tuskegee Institute right here in Alabama, his focus on vocational training and self-reliance continues to influence how we approach education today. He didn’t just manage the school; he built it from the ground up—literally. Booker T. Washington also partnered with Julius Rosenwald to construct over 5,000 schools, shops, and teacher homes for African American children across the south.

Lanett City Schools will observe President's Day on Monday, February 16, 2026. All campuses will be closed except for W.O. Lance Elementary.
Don't forget that Monday, February 16th, is a scheduled make-up day for all students and staff at W.O. Lance Elementary.
Attendance will follow the regular daily schedule, and all bus transportation will operate on its normal routes. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a smooth and productive school day!

Lanett City Schools assistant principals recently attended the CLAS Assistant Principals Conference! This two-day experience offered meaningful professional learning, collaboration, and fresh ideas to strengthen leadership and support student success.

The Alabama State Department of Education has approved our request for a make-up day. As a result, Monday, February 16, will serve as the make-up day for students. On this day, school will operate on a normal schedule.
